cage door
The vets keep different sized cages for different animals. This was one of the cages in the kennels.
The surgery is kept immaculately clean and tidy, and the staff there seem to really care about the service they give to the animals.
One of today's visitors was a beagle puppy. He was 5 months old, with white socks right up to his knees, and a white tip on his tail (when it stopped wagging long enough!). His name was Arthur. He'd been a bit naughty though, and eaten a whole bar of chocolate. He got taken to the vet, where he was weighed (although he was more interested in giving kisses to his master and the vet, and so not putting all four paws on the scales!) and then given something to make him vomit. He was perfectly happy, right up until the medicine started to kick in. By the end, he looked very forlorn and sorry for himself, his muscles looked shaky, he whimpered quietly, and he looked confused as to how he'd managed to get so ill so quickly. I'd like to think that would be him having learned his lesson, but I daresay he'd do it all over again, given half a chance!
