He's 85 now, a couple of years ago we thought he was going to die of cancer.
Family arrived from the four corners of the globe and started to 'tidy up' Grandad's shed was still pretty much intact. I shot these chisels amongst the dust of his lathe with the afternoon light spilling through the window. I couldn't help thinking how many times his soft old hands had held them against the wood as the lathe turned.
Turns out he'd never used them! "Those old things?" he scoffed. They were too soft".
