This has so much going for it Alexis, I hardly know where to begin. I remember returning from a recent trip and being somewhat shocked at how deserted the terminal was, even though the airport is a major international hub between the States, Europe, and points East, and I was there during a peak travel time for international departures. The cavernous space which contemplated a perpetual flood of travelers had an eerie feel to it, as if one had walked through Times Square during a week day at rush hour and finding it deserted. It was unnerving. I get the same sense looking at your photo. The empty space, antiseptically clean, the row of empty seats on the far left, so sparse one even notices the Gate number - E2 - on the floor of the closed walkway. It has a distinctly minimalist feel, utilitarian without being off-putting. The colors are amazing, the monotony of the greens offset by the bright red wall, and the subdued colors of the urban landscape seen through the windows. Reflections on the ceiling, shadows and light - all conspire to create an ambiance which is quietly startling. I think it is a tour de force, and nore than deserving of the accolades myself and others pay it.
