locked for eternity

Since Federico Moccia's "Ho voglia di te" (literally "I crave for you") came out, a lot of young couples in Rome have been putting their padlocks on Ponte Milvio lamps (one actually fell due to the weight of too many padlocks), and throw away the keys in the Tevere river, to have their love last forever. This shot was taken in Milan, in the Sempione park, on a very small bridge. Despite thinking this a little too "fashion"... I'm still happy that there are still people in the world thinking that love can last forever.

Unfortunately, here in Rome some vandal has broken and trowed into river Tevere all the padlocks... Now the City Council has replaced it with chains where to attach the padlocks.
