    Love the series... I grew up around Oakdale, but spent many cold times deer hunting around Truckee... and camping up around Donner - as a kid, my brother and I used to love snorkeling (yes... snorkeling) in Donner... cold, but amazingly clear... Thanks for the memory jog.

    Love the series Chris! I've hiked around the lake plenty of times and it's indeed a special place. You're right, it's not touristy at all, which totally screens its beauty and haunting past. Lovely images!
