The Streetlamp

This photo was taken under the victorian railway viaduct in city centre Manchester which is located in the industrial heartland of Northern England.

It was a 30 second tripod mounted exposure using a Nikon D40 with Sigma 10-20 lens at 11mm, f8, iso200

Thanks very much Daniel...this place was really deserted. Even though it's right in the heart of a major city it's so far below normal street level that it has an abandoned and spooky feel to it!
It was one of those nights when it was really quiet and all the hairs on the back of my neck were standing up!

Thanks for stopping to look at this one Michael....that's very kind of you!
The theme against which this was submitted was 'Noir' and although it's now closed for new submissions, voting continues until the 15th Feb when the Editors make their choice about which photos to publish.
The top photos are really wonderful and will have had perhaps 10 times more 'yeah' votes than this one so I'm not very hopeful about my chances but it's sure been fun submitting it.
