Natural History
The start of my 3 week work trip around the world, and had a few days of down time before the storm of airports and lecture halls to take in some Museums in London with my wife.
Sadly, spent more time in the gift shop at the Natural History Museum, as the specimen exhibit was closed.. the main reason to go there that day. We did manage to walk around, and see the museum, and i am so glad that we did. For anyone that read Bill Bryson's "A short history of nearly everything", it always comes back to, or starts at this place.
Darwin's castle, and home to most of his research and findings.
On the top floor, looking at the far wall. Each gilded fresco in the ceiling that represent every discovery. The stone primates that dot the stone pillars supporting each arch that draws your eyes across the iron leaf stencils of the frame work.. this building is stunning,
The morning silence in this building was as amazing as the light.
