Hotel Drushba
Moldavian Hotel Drushba. Drushba means 'friendship' in Russian.
The hotel is set up in a typical communist-style. Long hallways, huge old fashioned chairs and on every floor a 'Mamoushka' or 'floormother' who is responsible for everything that happens on her floor. Her job mainly consists of handing out toiletpaper.
The hotel was next to empty and I certainly was the only guest on my floor.

I stayed at a Hotel Druzba in Slovakia once many years ago. Didn't really qualify as a hotel. Not even motel-quality. There was urine and rat poison under the furniture. Really really depressing. There was a floor mother there too.

This was in the Trandnistrien capital Tiraspol.
Trandnistrie is a part of Moldova that conciders itself an independant coutry. And it actually is. They have their own police force, currency, elections and country borders. It's just that the international community sees Trandnistrie mere as a province. -
