Wishing back to when I was 8
Have you ever revisited a place that contains a treasure chest of happy childhood memories? A place that makes your heart ache of nostalgia, that makes you want to be a little child again?
This is it for me, the rocks in front of our house in Jeffrey's Bay.
I spent 80% of the holidays in my life in Jeffrey's, and I spent 80% of that time on these rocks, this is where my dad tought me to swim, fish and dive. This is where me and my grandmother always picked up shells and this is where me and all my cousins always used to play. it also has it's few painful memories like fishing hooks in my finger, cuts from falling on the rocks, and jelly fish tentacles twisted around my arm. But every December when I walk across the dunes where we used to play hide and seek, and stand on these rocks looking at the waves, I get this sick feeling of wanting to be 8 again.....
