"Bibi" : in French, name given to small old hats. Pronounce : beebee.

It was also the nickname of the first wife of great French photograph J-H Lartigue.

Lartigue's work was exhibited for the first time in his life when he was 68, in 1963. First exhibition : at NY Moma !

The name of the beautiful young lady who is fighting with her sock under the red "bibi" at the top of the stairs is Anna.

I shot this picture without thinking. Then I went my way up the stairs. I crossed Anna on her way down. I couldn't catch her eyes as the "bibi" spread a shadow upon them.

Later in the afternoon, I met Anna again. I couldn't miss her "bibi". At that moment, she was in peace with her socks and she was fighting with the city map.

I told her she was somewhere inside my camera. And I offered to help.

Thus we spent a couple of hours at a café terrace.

Anne Marie Rockwell. American artist. Two hours that went too fast and then I had to go.

Before I went, Anna had explained that art was designed for connecting people together, making links between them, like it helped her to stay connected to her far away brother Marcel.

Such a nice spirit !

And now, I think of this : I'm sure somebody among you, readers, knows Anna. The best proof that Anna is right would be to lead her here and say hello !
