I was with a few buddies atop Twin Peaks in San Francisco. It was one of those times when everyone stops talking and just takes in the view, letting the cool bay breeze sweep past your face and the sun cast its warm rays on your back. All the while I was aiming, focusing, and framing photos of the lego-sized buildings that lay in front of me, and then I saw an excellent shadow of a bird. Anxiously trying to capture the shadow well, it occurred to me, "hey, if there's a shadow, there must be a bird." There most certainly was. Just in front of me, hovering gently in a balancing act on the winds from the Great Pacific, a golden eagle that left me with an image I'll always remember
