Thank you for sharing your story and images, I have fallen into the same trap you were reffering to,. I jsut completes a large family shoot that looked exactly like you described, anyone with a camera could have doen that session, the art was not there and running short on time I fell into the hurry and get this done to start on the next one.
I am truley impressed with your photos you posted here and allowing us to see the beauty in the art you have here. It is exactly what I needed to see and remind myself that I did not start out my business with family portraits being my priority,. Time and reason are the only things that have brought portraits into my work. I need to relax and have fun with it, Thats the whole reason I am doing this to begin with.
I know this is leagthy, but thanks again for sharing your work and story with us.

I immediately thought of Edgar Allan Poe.
Your subject is a hybrid of Lenore from "The Raven" and "Annabelle-Lee," without a doubt!
