Picture was taken on a flight over Rio de Janeiro after my good friend insisted we take an expensive scenic flight...

I have always been opposed to such touristy escapades, but I must say that this was a highlight of our trip. Seeing Rio from the air and capturing Corcovado in such way was amazing.

It is no wonder that Christ the Redeemer was selected as one of the new seven wonders of the world.

VOTE FOR IT.

And if you ever have a chance to take a helicopter ride, make sure you get the front seat!

Way _down_ to the extreme left's Laranjeiras, & the street where I grew up, way below D. Marta's Belvedere...
Fantastic view, Niko! And across the Bay, all those idylic beaches... Yep, the best way to see Rio, from above. Seeing it this way, makes you want to cry, realizing what's being done to this incredible city, up close.
Did you get to the Prainha Nature Preserve?
