Once this land was covered with 10 foot of water, due to the severe lack of rain in inland Australia the dam has returned to a creek. This dam makes up part of the Snowy mountain hydro electricity scheme. When the Hydro project was completed it was given the title of the most amazing engineering feat ever. To this day it remains recognised as such if you consider the technology avaliable at the time.
