"The Product Is You"
by Lance Campeau
Camera - Nikon Coolpix 8800
Shutter - mixed shutter speeds
Aperture - mixed aperture settings
Focal Length - 89 mm
ISO - 50
This image is a mix of two different exposures. In order to capture the full range of colors I used separate shots and then blended them in Photoshop using different layer composting and opacity settings. Dodging and burning has been used as well as the shadow/highlight filter. The final image has also been desaturated by 30%.
This stretch of highway 20 in Montreal is called "The Turcott Yards" (a now defunct rail yard) the backdrop for this area used to be filled with the normally colorful train cars. Since the yards closure, the highway is now overwhelmed with billboard advertising... It is very unsightly and distracting to drivers.
The titled was inspired by my dislike for advertising in general and is intended to remind the viewer to make unbiased choices for themselves, uninfluenced by media. Comments are welcome.

Eric Anderson gave props (23 Dec 2007):
This is art - it should be framed and displayed. Well seen.
