The Silver Peso.
Our little town of Larkspur has grown past the 'Peso, leaving it back in time.
In a town where the housewives drive Porsche SUV's, and the cost of a one bedroom, one bathroom house, could get you a mansion and yacht anywhere else in the world, The Silver Peso maintains it's grit, and grasp on reality for the common man who just wants a beer and a game of pool.
Candid, and shot just after 'last call'. Pretty sure I was drunk off my ass (the added pleasure of having a watering hole blocks from home). In a true bit of fate, weeks after submitting this image for the Pacific Sun photo contest, I was "asked to leave" the Peso for taking pictures. In a crowded bar full of drunk people taking pictures with their cell phones, and point and shoots... I get kicked out using a film camera.
Two days after getting kicked out, getting a phone call that I won the contest. Wonderful closure.

Great portrait, enhanced by interesting story. Never can figure out why some people are so freaked out by a camera.
