Last year I decided to try using a Hoya R72 infrared filter on my new digital camera. I bought the step ring, slapped it on and behold! The world beyond light... This waterfall is in Beauhornois, Quebec, Canada. Recent rain had provided a good volume of water for the shot. Full direct sunlight and a tripod is required to make quality near-infrared images with a standard digital camera (unless your camera is specially modified for near infrared photography). Using auto white balancing gives the image an unusual palette. It is also good to note that lens flare in this part of the color spectrum is very unpredictable at different focal lengths. This image took 70 takes to get it right. Comments are welcome.
