Baltimore [Population 288,530,000]
The city of Baltimore has the highest crime rate of any major metropolitan area in the country. When seen from the air, it becomes apparent (to some) where the root of this problem lies. With every new layer of asphalt, with every new apartment complex and every new billboard, there is simply more clutter upon preexisting clutter. Gentrification and what the Germans liked to call "Stadterneuerung" are what's at work here, but have they really accomplished anything or have they just made things worse?
Living in such a place, it's hard to imagine having much hope for a happy "well-adjusted" life. Maybe all it takes is a change of scenery.

And to think that eventually with enough time many more places will look like this...Yikes! I love the photo and it's a "yeah" for me.
