Truth
The “Truth” is getting old is hard to except.
The shame of the camera starring at my face,
It just reminds everyone of the beauty I have lost.
I don’t need a clock to know about time.
If I looked in a Mirror I can’t believe what I see.
Routines are mundane and a challenge as each day goes bye,
I know what to expect, my mortality and that’s about all.
I wake, I sit, I eat, and I sleep and that just about it.
Let me show you photographs of my better days,
And tell you stories of all kinds of things.
Just don’t take my picture when I look such a mess.
Remember that’s my soul you’re trying to snatch.
