Japanese Cranes land in snowfall

In the Ainu language, the red-crowned crane is known as sarurun kamui or marsh kamui.

In Japan, this crane, known as tancho, is said to live 1000 years. A pair of red-crowned crane were used in the design for the D series of the 1000 yen note.

With the leaping postures and the background handled the way you have, this become a work of art. Applause.

Traveling to Honshu and Hokkaido and shooting the birds and animals there was a break though for me.

What an amazing picture. And your handling of the tones is perfection.
