Close to my home lives a friend of mine. He recently bought a farm just across the border in Germany.

When I arrived I was a bit stressed out but I totally relaxed when I visited his place.

I really like this shot with its bucolic simplicity... but I think the shot will work better if you crop off some of the dead space behind the cow, so that the cow is more looking into the frame. What I am saying is "get the cow out of the middle of the picture"!

thanks for the props and advice guys.
Obviously I thought of getting the cow out of the middle but I didn't. Like this the focus is entirely on the cow. Around the cow there is a humongous void to all directions. This emptyness and tranquility off the landscape was the atmosphere I was after and that was the story I wanted to tell.

know what? I should go photographing cows too. Seeing your picture I feel this absolutely overpowering and overwhelming need rooted in my pastoral ancestry to go shoot a cow :) Well done! PS: don't listen to them, don't crop anything, the picture is perfect!

If you send me a 1280x800 version of this photo, I will use it as my desktop wallpaper. It's great.

Love cows and LOVE this picture!! And besides the cow is not inthe middle of the picture. The middle would be dead center. Don't change a thing!!!

I agree w/ Amanda on this one; don't change a thing; you've captured the since of farm life the is precious; if things are stressful or somehow out of whack, all I need to do is walk the fence rows on the farm and everything falls into perspective; you've scored all I just typed in this capture; don't change a thing

I agree.. DON"T crop the photo.. with cropping you loose the wholesome appeal. It envokes a simplistic feel, and the calming sense that with all the billions of people in the world that we can still find our own little quiet space, undisturbed..
