One of the robots where I work. :)
We just finished getting the floor properly set up for it (The floor was not sturdy enough). Chris works with the controller.
The Geek Group, as one might guess, is run by those who truly love to do what they do. We love science and technology, and are undoubtedly a strong subculture. ;)

You can put a large variety of end-effectors on the robot, and it can do whatever you want. Grippers, welders, drills, etc. It would attach to the part he is sitting on in the photo.
It is a large demonstration piece on robotics. -
