Photo Shoot on a plane ride to California - I was so astounded by this view that I fumbled with my bag to get my camera and started shooting. It is so beautiful, yet you can see the scarring from the clear cutting. Oregon does pretty well at hiding this from the driving public, but when you are 30+ thousand feet in the sky, ... Well the mountain, ..., it is hard to describe the feeling of seeing this.
What realy gets me is that this photo was buried a few years in my computer. By the time I rediscovered it, I had forgotten which mountain it was. Then I realized how mountains change as you rotate around them. I started attaching it to emails at work, asking if anyone recognized the mountain. Finally, someone said Mt Hood. After reviewing many other pictures of the mountain, I was convinced it was actually MT Hood. It seems a lot bigger when you are sitting in the lodge, which by by the way, is where The Shining was filmed.
