A Fruitbat in flight near The Mataranka hot spring, Australia.
The Mataranka hot springs were once very well visited. But now there are hardly any people. It is situated in a beautiful area, there is a posh resort build right next to it and it is very close to the highway which makes it easily accessible. But recently business has been spoiled by flying creatures. A mass of thousands of bats flew in and are not likely to leave anytime soon.
I don't make it completely clean to the hot springs. Everywhere you look there are bat dumpings and the smell is overwhelming.

Absolutley amazing capture!! They are so fast and zig zag so quickly! You're lucky if you get them in the frame at all! :-) I am sorry for the resort, but kudos to the bats! They are so needed for pollination and insect control, and habitats are shrinking...
