The Blue Mosque is a place for the faithful. The Sultan Ahmed Mosque stands in the middle of a city that is at the central of the debate between religious and secular. Istanbul is as modern as many European cities but religious undertones are felt throughout the city. The mosque is physical evidence of that presence.
