The brilliant gold dome in Montpelier, Vermont may not be an exotic destination but it is one I am drawn to year after year. And I guess I think of it as being very much off the beaten path. As a very little girl I grew up reading in the shade of its lawn and now I return year after year...something keeps me coming back!
