The A-12 was developed between 1962-1964 and operational between 1963-1968. It was probably the most incredible plane every built. It could go Mach 3 (2200miles per hour) at 95,000 feet. This was the super secret spy plane that preceeded the SR-71 Blackbird. They were run and owned by the CIA.(some say the technology came from an alien craft that crashed in the New Mexican desert..hmmm?)
