Hi there!

Hope

This abandoned water tower resides behind the Hope Mill in Hope, RI. The mills that have operated at this site have manufactured everything from pig iron, to cannon that were used by George Washington in the battle of Yorktown, to textile. Clearly much more than a symbol of hope, this water tower has provided hope for the region and indeed the nation.

You can purchase selected photos of mine at mylatehope.imagekind.com.

Created using my 1950's AGFA Clack with 4 year expired Fuji Velvia RVP120 (ISO 50) slide film cross processed with C-41. Photo scanned with an HP Scanjet 4890. No digital manipulation necessary!

Brilliant, you have captured a 50's look, with a circa 50's camera, on film, in 2007. Or you could have shot with a Canon 5D, run through DXO Optics Pro, tweeked in Film Pack filtered with Nik filters, dinked a little in Photoshop, and hey, you could have the same shot without all the hassel of real talent.

thanx 4 the comments! if i believed in digital manipulation, i would have used the healing brush and erased the power lines in the lower left of the frame. damn power lines are always screwing up my composition!

thanks richard, that's too funny! via google, i found a photo of the album cover here. i have shot quite a collection of water tower photos, some of which look even more like their album cover. i should see if they need a photographer for their next album! thanks again

Another fine shot of the water tower, each one brilliant in its own way - how lucky are you living near that ;-)

I love it; we've had this same power line talk on one of my shots recently; I I saw a large tower with no "distracting" lines; I'd think somethings kinda fishy about this...well done paul
