It's a twig, it's a branch, it's a walking stick!
Found this little guy on a fence at the park. He was very cooperative while I took his picture and found it fascinating how I was easily able to see his eyes in the macro shot but was not easily noticable by the naked eye.

I think it's a fascinating creature, you are lucky you found one in nature. Here in belgium i have to go to the zoo to see one.
