sweet poison
Although I don't know what kind of berries these are, i imagine they're poisonous. However, the little tree they grow on is a beautiful pink/red.

Pretty shot of our famous poke berries! (This is the plant that "Poke Salad Annie" is about.) The entire plant is poisonous raw, but can be eaten if cooked. I've heard that the berries can be eaten if boiled well, but I don't care to test that theory! I know that children have died from eating raw berries.
