Me in front of the Post Office in Luckenbach, TX.
Luckenbach, Texas, where live music is played daily on the stage behind the building. I thought about using this photo for my daily self portrait but ended up liking what I posted for today better : ).
I am a bit self conscious about taking my SP's out in public, but so far no one seems to notice that I am doing it so I went about setting my tripod up and taking test shots and even a few photos with me in it which I nixed for various reasons. On this photo I went back in front of the camera and turned around to find a semi-circle of 8 or 10 people standing there watching me!!!! Yikes, I gave a big smile, clicked the remote and got the photo made, and good or bad, I was done - LOL : ). One man came over to me and said that he heard that I was in an online photo organization and was taking my self portrait for a theme! Now just how did he know that??? I asked him and he told me that his wife told him. It turns out that I had talked to her earlier when I was doing the other SP of me by the bridge. On that photo, just as I got in front of the camera and aimed my remote I saw her taking a photo of me taking a photo of me! Luckenbach is a place where singers have become famous. Maybe a person taking photography there can get famous also - nah, I don't think so. But it is a nice dream to daydream about : )

That does look like a fun place. I do like the Self portrait you posted better but this is a terrific capture showing us your trip. I love it.

I like your story that you wrote after I made my first comment...People as a rule are very curious about anyone taking pictures of themselves...so far I haven't been caught doing my self portraits in front of anyone...I tried one in the dental office waiting room when everyone was out for lunch but I didn't use it as I took it too quickly in case someone walked in:) I am very shy about anyone catching me so I do most of mine at home.

I love the text you added after my first comment. It does feel odd taking them in front of people but when you explain they seem interested. Your bravery has paid off with this excellent SP and story.
