I think this may be a juvenile
Wheel Bug. If anyone one knows for sure, please let me know.....
Thanks Sheila! I looked it up; definately an assassin bug but NOT a Wheel Bug.
It had been stuck in the fur of one of my grooming dogs. I never did get all the dog hair off of it.

Great shot! This is definitely one of the assassin bugs, but I don't *think" it's a wheel bug. (Buggude.net is an excellent source for bug info and photos.)

This appears to be a wheel bug nymph to me. Google "wheel bug nymph" and then click "images" and see if you don't agree. Love that blood red eye. Excellent macro.
