Special Summer Memory

I posted this photo 2 months ago without details or description.
At the time I didn't think either was necessary.
I took this picture in late August.
It was unseasonably cool that evening.
My son's friend was wrapped up in a blanket and he was wearing the Harley Davidson hoodie I had just given him for his birthday the day before.
The 3 of us decided to take a walk down to the pond that night.
As usual my plan was to shoot a few sunset pictures.
My son wanted me to get in the boat with them but I opted to walk around the bank and shoot my pictures instead.
A decision I'll forever be thankful for having made.
This wasn't even a planned photograph.
They just happened to cross my shooting path just as I hit the shutter button to photograph the sun setting between the trees.
A final picture of my only son .
A special summer memory of him in a place where he was content and happy.
I'm glad i missed the boat.
