Sweet Gum

My favorite foliage in the Fall is Sweet Gum and I take every opportunity to capture those multi-colored leaves. I have seen some Sweet Gum trees that had green, yellow, red, purple, pink, and gold all in the same tree.

    So that is what that tree is. Really nice shot with such a nice variety of color in natural sunlight.

    I love Sweet Gum trees also, they do have a wonderful variety of colors on them. About a mile from us was a big empty lot full of Sweet Gum and other trees that some people call trash trees, yet they turned the prettiest colors of any other trees around here and someone bought the whole lot, had it cleared and so far nothing has been done with it. It is an eye sore now with tall weeds and those wonderful trees that would have given us color are gone. Someone cut them all down : (

    You are so fortunate to be able to grow the Sweet Gum Tree in your part of the country...and to get that many colors off from one tree is amazing!

    This is so beautiful. Last year our sweetgum changed for the first and only time I can remember. This year the leaves are just drying up and falling...no cool weather yet.
