Focused

The buck, not the shot. The shot's blurred, I know.

A doe ran by, in an obvious panic. She caught me by surprise and I missed her completely.
Seconds later I saw the reason for her flight.

This is the look of lust in the deer world, and certain bars. This buck is totally focused on the doe, and nothing else.

He chased her back a few minutes later, but I wasn't fast enough to get a shot.

If you happen to come across a buck in this state, it is wise to be quiet and still, as they are completely out of their minds at this point, and will charge anything that pisses them off. P.S.- everything pisses them off.

LOL...I can't decide if you're a wild man, or just a man in the wild.

LOL!! They can be very insistent in their pursuits. Much like the men I have come across in the local clubs. I am glad his attention was too focused for him to bring you to harm. What an incredible way to spend the day.

Ha.. You've got that right!! Good thing the doe didn't run closer to you. I've known a few ppl who've been clobbered by bucks. One of them even made foreign headlines. He's never going to live that down either.
