A "Frightmare" on Canal Street!
[From the 46th Floor, Sheraton Hotel, Canal Street, New Orleans, November 1, 2009]
I eagerly awaited my business trip to New Orleans this weekend.
With so much to do, JPG would have to take a “back seat.” Imagine, a “JPG-free” weekend . . . What an interesting concept!
I never thought about Halloween, let alone the French Quarter. But, as I trolled Bourbon and Royal Streets, I saw a lot of freaky people. It was strange, even for the Big Easy.
I sought sanctuary in the Hotel. 46th floor! Too high for my peace of mind, especially with the floor-to-ceiling plate glass window in my room!
Well, not to worry. As I lay in bed late Saturday night, I was content. JPG had not cluttered my mind, the freaky people were a block away, and I could see the lovely street lights, 500 feet below, without getting too close to the window.
It was not to last. I tossed and turned all night. I kept dreaming that I was being drawn to the precipice of the window by the very distractions I had avoided. It was a “Frightmare” on Canal Street!

Dreams are funny, aren't they? I am certain the view was lovely, an unrestful sleep...New Orleans, the French Quarter on Halloween night...that alone is a frightening thought

I think being on the 46th floor of the Hotel would be scary enough, in case of a fire ...That would be enough to give one nightmares. Great one for the theme.

this is kind of scary, RV as I finish clicking fave button and start reading your caption, my computer suddenly went dead, then I have to re start it, then for the second time it went dead again. This is my third try, I'm glad, if not you could just have gotten my my fave and will wonder where is my comment. Hope your business trip went well.
