Bannack Ghost Town, Montana.
Bannack was founded in 1862 and became the first Territorial Capital of Montana in 1864. It was a mining town for gold that was first found in this area at Grasshopper Creek. From the 1860s to the 1930s, Bannack continued as a mining town with a fluctuating population. By the 1950s the gold business had dwindled and most folks had moved on.
