The Great Pumpkin Festival
Among Dallas’s favorite fall happenings is The Great Pumpkin Festival. Featuring a pumpkin patch with thousands of pumpkins, a 15’ pumpkin house, face painting, art shows and concerts, and over 22,000 chrysanthemums, this yearly event is held at the Dallas arboretum from the end of September through the first of November. I’ve had loads of fun taking pictures at this festival since the fall of the year Sasha, my eight-year-old granddaughter, was born. Captured this shot in the pumpkin patch when Sasha was four and her baby sister, Ashlyn, was almost three months old. Still chuckle over the way Ashlyn looks in this pic. She was sound asleep and because of the way my daughter, Kim, and I had to prop her up, her little cheeks look a lot chubbier than they were.

I can't believe Sasha was ever so small. And Ashlyn. Wow! I sure don't remember her cheeks being that chubby. I swear they weren't!
