Portrait workshop with Ludovic Careme, 10/18/09.
This guy lives in the streets because he likes it. He has family, home, food and laundry in the country - yet he lives like a street junk in the old center of São Paulo, out of choice. When he showed up at the workshop site and accepted to model, I grabbed him first sight. Gentle, cheerful, interesting, funny - one hell of a character. Alcohol, smokes, life at full throttle, and nowhere to drop dead...
I couldn't keep myself from feeling a little envy.
