It's very easy to look at the capture of the boat and be satisfied; however, what I think is happening here to make that happen is the alt lines layered by the grass and the water--culminating with the rise of the background. It all gently emcompasses and surrounds the boat (with its soft-hazy colours) and directs the eye right back to the obvious. I rowed the boat around, and did not just sit in it. I enjoyed the journey.
