The Friendly Skies Can be Lonely
Edward Hopper is one of my favorite painters. I always loved the sense of loneliness he was able to portray.
I took this photo after spending 3 weeks in Italy. I travel often and after the excitement of being in a new place wears off, the feeling of emptiness sets in.
While traveling what interested me was to see the people who have to do this for work and be nice all the time. It made me wonder how they must feel when they stay in another empty hotel room.
