This one is for Michael B., ok Mike here is YOUR deer :)

You have to look real close.. the lightbox helps you see, that this buck has a broken antler..... one side has formed perfectly and the other is just a "stub"

I took this from my deer stand this evening..... YES, I do hunt, and before some of you get too upset at that fact.... we have been "management" hunting for the Arkansas Game & Fish to remove 35 doe from our property.... We have a local processor that will DONATE the meat to a "Hunters for the Hungry" program which gives the meat directly to our Local Food Bank..... a VERY worthwhile cause!!! Yes, I donated my first doe just yesterday!

Not only a great shot, but a good explanation as well. I'm not a hunter, but this certainly sounds like a win/win proposition to me!

Ah poor guy, wonder how he lost the other one? That is a very worthy cause Maurie! So glad they have something like that to help the less fortunate. I must say though that a good piece of smoked venison is pretty tasty! Great shot!

I am not a hunter either but I can understand the need for it. Terrific capture Maurie!! Congratulations on both shots.

That's something to see! Thanks for the the education. There has been quite an uproar about thinning the deer at one of the larger parks on the Kansas side of the line. Where as they've been doing it on this side for ages. People won't understand about the disease and starvation the deer will have to endure if it's not done. Let alone the fact that they will become agressive toward ppl during trying times. Culling is an unforturnate neceassity.

I agree with Susan...it is not as though you are hunting just for the fun of it...Great capture!

Rats with long legs. Still, kind of scenic rats, and since I eat meat, I can't rightly bitch about the hunting for food. Hunting for fun, well, that's just sissy. Cool shot of Mr. unbalanced.

My late father was a deer hunter and I have many memories of him getting ready to go hunting with his buddies during deer hunting season....You are hunting for a great cause and there is a need for it when the deer population becomes too large. ...Great capture!

Great shot. Poor Bucky .. nice looking fellow, probably busted his antler in a fight over the ladies .. and now he probably won't stand a chance at 'romance' until next year. My wife and I are both hunters, and we hunt for the meat, do all our own processing too. We are allowed a total of 2 deer per year but only take one (on our lucky years) as that is all we can eat in a year. We don't hunt from stands either but stalk them on foot, weapon of choice is a pistol. We take the first 'gift' offered to us, and give thanks for it. But I rant on, sorry. Going in my Favorites right now.

He must have met a bigger buck!! Some people don't realize that deer will multiply to the point where their food supply dwindles; then they starve. Congratulations for your part in helping the food bank.
