Eloise and I went to Solvang this weekend. It's a neat little Danish village north of Santa Barbara.
While we were staying at the house of a friend of Eloise's, we decided to use the Jacuzzi. We have no idea where this fuzzy little visitor came from. One minute it was just Eloise and I in the Jacuzzi and the next we had company - this cross-eyed 'little' tarantula. I have never seen Eloise move so fast!
After Eloise settled back down and got back into the Jacuzzi, and after we both got our cameras, the three of us sat there for another half hour. Within a couple of minutes after Eloise and I went back inside the tarantula was gone. I have no idea how it came into this little spa area and I have no idea how it got back out. I think the tarantula was just lonely.

O M G!!!! This is about as far from handsome as I ever want to see! And you say Eloise got BACK into the jacuzzi?!?!? It would take me a month to get back to the town!!!!

He was probably trying to figure out how he was going to wrap you up in his spider silk and drag you back to his den. Eloise is very brave. I think I would have gotten the shotgun. This is a fabulous portrait of "handsome" Mr. Tarantula.
