Grandma's Rubber Bands
Having been born the year before the beginning of the Great Depression (1929 thru the early 1940's) and living her childhood through that extremely difficult decade, my mom, who we all refer to as "Grandma", collects rubber bands, bread bags, twisty-ties...She grew up learning to NEVER throw anything away that might be re-used.
Grandma always has a few rubber bands placed here and there throughout the house, ready to grab if needed. We love to tease her (lovingly) about her "OCD" tendencies - but, really, we know where to go if we need a rubber band, bread bag, twisty-tie...!! An original recycler!!
