    Thanks for the kind comments by all. Yes, when we rounded the corner of the road we were on, I was in the passenger seat and said "stop the car, it looks like we just lost Vancouver." It was a stunning could and firestorm. As we rounded it further the evening light was shining through the edges of the cloud. We stopped at a campground about 10-15 miles away and returned to the same spot where I took this image to see what could be visible at night. Nothing.... it was all seemingly gone. Yet when I took some night images of our campsite at 2 a.m. the the next morning (just hours later) I could see a red glow in the sky from the direction of the fire storm. I could not see it with my naked eye, but with a 1 minute exposure at 2000 ISO.... there it was.
