The cozy hearth
A series of steel catwalks lead to stairs, which lead to more winding paths, and even more stairs. The whole city became steep with height, and continued to arch upwards at higher and higher angles. We could have fallen off of the edge of the world up there, but holding on tight, we reached the final set. Gahein glanced upwards into the hazy sunlight, and we heading onwards, breaching the walls of the beast from the top.
There was a soft and cold rain that fell from the clouds, it stung like ice. The surrounding view was obscure, but we could tell there were buildings out there. The walls of our city stretched down for miles, and looking off the edge became to much.
The spirit of exploration felt intoxicating, it felt important, it felt like a job well done.
