Because of the deep meanings this picture holds for me, decided to change my nostalgia entry. I captured this image in my mom’s bedroom on the day of her homecoming, a celebration over a rapid recovery from a stroke. Not only does this photo speak to me of her journey from the emotional darkness of the fears and frustrations associated with a stroke to the lightness of recovery, but to that Christmas of oh….so….long ago when my sister, Lorna, and I gave her this antique china dresser set that she continues to treasure.

I love this!! Not only is it a beautiful shot it is a special one. It also made me think of the smell of my grandmother. I always loved her smell and a perfume or a soap can take me to her, if only for a minute.
