Widowed
My grandmother, the day of my grandfather's funeral, July 14, 2007. There are so many emotions in her face at this moment: anguish, joy, vulnerability. She had always been the photographer in my family, and there's also an element of allowing herself to be a subject, which she generally resisted. There might also be a hint of pride, seeing that her grandson had inherited her passion and stepped behind a camera to document the world.
