Latrenia, the jump boots were so stiff 40 years ago that we took them new out of the box, put them on, and then filled them up with water. We sloshed around for a whole day, then took them off, and let them dry. After that, they fit like ski boots, virtually molded to your foot. E-Z on, E-Z off. And, they would hold a spitshine. Funny how a boot can bring tears to your eyes, (ok; I'm preety much bawling right now). I like the symbolism for this picture because so many of us can fill those boots with our own loved one...I miss my 18-yr-old son so much. He is my hero along with the others and I am proud that he laces up every day.
