During the Taliban regime in Afghanistan, women were barred from working outside the home with only a few exceptions. The ban on women’s work also applied to female teachers. Despite the threats against female teachers that still exist, especially in the southern and eastern provinces of Afghanistan, many thousands of them have now returned to work.

    excellent portrait. what a special person she is to do take on the task that she takes on every day. making such a difference in these young lives.
